66 -- LENS AND LAP TOOL GENERATOR SOL N62645-00-T-0015 DUE 082300 POC Anna Marie Linton, Contract Specialist, 301 619-2335 The Naval Medical Logistics Command has a requirement for a LOH V generator. The Naval Medical Logistics Command intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with LOH Optical Machinery, Inc. N116 W18111 Morse Drive, Milwaukee/Germantown, WI 53022-0664 for a lens and lap tool generator capable of interfacing to other LOH equipment to generate a robotic lens production line. Responses questioning the sole source nature of this requirement must contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirements. . This announcement constitutes the only solicitation document; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is N62645-00-T-0015 and is issued as a request for quotation. FAR clause 52.213-4, Terms and Conditions Simplified Acquisition (Other Than Commercial Items, June 1999, applies to this purchase. The system shall consist consist of the lens generator, and the accessories necessary for the installation and operation of the generator, to include 1 each LOH V50 generator (part # 01000824), 1 each Support Table for V50 generators (part #02003303), 1 each Coburn Axis Bridge Device (part #02002534), 1 each Coolant System (part # 01-004-787), 1 each 3D disc cutter, polycarbonate (part #92002738), 1 each 2" flat back adapter (part #02001602), 1 each disc cutter, lap tool (part #92002740), 1 each disc cutter, glass (part #02003280), 1 each dial indicator (part #02003967), 1 each axis adjusting device (part #02003544), 1 each chiller unit C3500 with pump (part #98000073). The generator shall be capable of surfacing all current commercial optical materials, including CR49, High Index, Polycarbonate plastics and glass, to produce lenses for spectacles and inserts for gas masks. The generator shall be capable of rapidly producing aluminum lap tools for both LOH optical equipment and Gerber/Coburn optical equipment. The unit shall include all equipment and accessories to install and operate the lens generators for both lens production and for lap tool production. The unit shall be capable of generating lens from a strength of -30 diopter to +30 diopter, in glass, polycarbonate, CR39, High Index plastics, mineral glass. The unit shall be capable of generating lap tools from aluminum and plastic, with strengths from 30 diopters though +30 diopters.
