A -- DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIFIC RUBBER COMPOUNDS SOL W813LT-0180-6001 DUE 082500 POC Jean Craig, Contract Specialist, 410-278-6517 FAX 410-278-6522 The US Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005, plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of Services in the development of rubber compounds tailored to specific performance. The scope of work involves the performance of a wide variety of duties connected with the applied research, development, test and evaluation of rubber materials. A detailed Statement of Work will be made available in the RFQ. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). ARL intends to purchase the above as a sole source procurement from the University of Massachusetts, Department of Plastics Engineering, Lowell, MA. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing via FAX 410-278-6522 to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurementon a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
