Sterling/202-307-7812 The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has a
requirement for a portable laptop computer system that can be used to
expediently duplicate a hard drive in a computer of unknown storage
capacity on to a Digital Audio Tape (DAT) media. Access to the hard
drive may not be possible, requiring that the hard drive backup process
may need to be done solely through ports on the computer whose hard
drive is to be backed up. The video port or equivalent external port
must have a backup data copy rate of at least 2.25 megabyes per second,
or be able to duplicate an 8-gigabyte hard drive in an hour or less.
The DEA intentds to issue a sole-source purchase order for this
requirement to Sparta, Inc. This acquisition will be accomplished
through the simplified acquisition rules under FAR part 13. The DEA is
seeking additional sources for this effort. The SIC Code is 3577. All
interested parties are asked to submit a written statement of
qualifications to the DEA, Attn: Mr. Herbert Sterling, Office of
Acquisition Management, Washington, DC, 20537, no later than August 24,
