DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work to be performed under this contract consists of washing, sanding, blasting, repair, hand tool cleaning, power tool cleaning, scraping, solvent cleaning, steam cleaning or other methods of rust or deteriorated paint removal, as applicable, and other operations necessary to prepare surfaces for protective coating application including but not limited to removing and reinstalling fence sections for equipment access, removing and reinstalling window screens, and removing and reinstalling hardware. After approval of surface preparation by the Contract Inspector, the indicated coating system will be applied to the extent and in a manner to achieve required performance. Work shall also include repairing or replacing damaged gutter and downspouts, cleaning out downspout lines to include the downspout and 50 ft of the underground portion of the line, replacing damaged shutters with new and replacing any hardware damaged when removing screens. The anticipated issue date is 26 July 2000 and the anticipated bid opening dateis 25 August 2000. The Standard Industry Code for the project is 1521. This project is open to large and small businesses. The small business size standard is a concern, including it's affiliates having an average amount of sales or receipts for the preceding three fiscal years not in excess of $17,000,000.00.
