N62836-00-Q-1186 Due 9/22/00. Procure electrically powered,
double-girder bridge cranes with top-running trolleys. The unit price
for each crane is to include assembly, installation, and testing for
delivery in Yokosuka, Japan. The cranes shall comply with ASME B30.2
(normal service), CMAA No. 70 (Class C service), and/or JIS B8801.
Electric drive controls shall meet the requirements of NEMA ICS 8, Part
8. All hardware supplied should be in metric sizes. The bridge spans
will vary between 11.3 m and 20.4 m and will be identified for each
crane in the solicitation schedule. The trolley hoists shall have a
rated capacity of between 4,000 lbs. and 20,000 lbs. which will also be
identified in the solicitation schedule. Hoists shall have inverter
type motors. The crane shall be designed to operate on 200 Volt, 3
phase, 50 Hertz alternating current in an indoor environment with an
ambient temperature of 110 degrees Fahrenheit maximum. A hoist upper
limit switches shall be provided. The Government intends to award an
indefinite quantity (IQ) contract with a maximum quantity of 23 bridge
cranes of various configurations. The performance period will be for
one year from time of award. The "minimum guarantee" amount will be
$170,000. The request for quotation is expected to be issued o/a 1
September 2000. This will be an electronic solicitation only in .PDF
format. No paper solicitation will be issued. A pre-proposal conference
will be held at the Naval Ship Repair Facility, Yokosuka approximately
10 days after initial issuance of the solicitation. All applicable
Trade Agreement Acts Clauses in FAR and DFARS will be utilized for this
procurement. Quotations shall be solicited under the procedures of FAR
Part 13.5. Telephone requests will not be honored. The solicitation
