This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a request for quote. This solicitation document and all incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the issuance of Federal Acquisition Circular 97-19. This solicitation is set aside 100% for small business. The SIC code 3317 applies. Description of Work: On Boiler #2, Bldg 3409, contractor shall (1) remove rear outer casing and roof casing in rear of boiler; (2) Remove all old refractory and insulation in rear wall; (3) reinsulate and install new ship lap tiles in rear wall; (4) Reinstall casing back to rear and top of boiler; (5) remove all floor tiles from boiler; (6) install new 2" ship lap tiles to floor of boiler; (7) cap the corners all around the floor tiles with refractory; and (8) point, patch, and wash coat front boiler wall. On Boiler #3, Bldg 3409, contractor shall (1) Replace firebrick on floor, side walls around headers and rear target wall; (2) Replace firebrick on floor, side wall around headers and rear target wall; and (3) Cap new side walls and rear wall with refractory. A site visit will be scheduled for 9:00 A.M., EST, 24 August 2000 to verify all locations and all offerors should contact the Contract Specialist, Mr. Jim Harris, at (301) 981-1951 not later than 3:00 P.M., EST, on 23 August 2000 to obtain access to Andrews AFB MD. Offerors must comply with all instructions contained in FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial.
