NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 1 EACH X-Ray Detector This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Radiographic and Data Solutions, Minneapolis MN 55421. This equipment is being procured on a sole source basis under the Flywheel Energy Storage System (FESS). The time frame for this procurement is critical and must be met in order to meet the program's very small window for flight. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 8/11/2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
