USDA, ARS, SAA intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Nicolet Instrument Corporation, to furnish, install and provide startup technical support for open market components for one Continuum IR Microscope, model #912A0429. Open market line items include: 1. 869-0045-412 Trinocular viewer with 10x eyepiece, 2. 869-0045-410 continuum 4-place rotatable nosepiece, 3. 869-0045-404 32x Infinity corrected reflachromat objective with variable sample compensation, 4. 869-0045-405, 32x Infinity corrected reflachromat condenser with variable sample compensation, 5. 869-0045-443 Automated option C (X,Y stage control, auto reflex aperture and auto focus), 6. 869-0045-457 20x Glass infinity corrected objective for continuum, 7. 869-4004-602 Microruler, 8. 869-0045-430 Motorized micropositioning stage with joy-stick for continuum, 9. 869-0045-429 Continuum dual, automated detector optics, 840-073700 TE cooled in GaAs detector for NIR, 10. 410-019200 Magna 850/860 E.S.P. OBC upgrade kit. The Continuum IRMicroscope will be procured under FSS contract GS-24F-1111B. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Interested parties should submit written responses including prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the entire requirement and must be received in this office within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice. It should be noted that no contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available. If no affirmative written responses are received, negotiations will be held with Nicolet Instrument Corporation without further notice.
