plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a Intensified-Gated
Electronic Camera for Fusion Research. Item No. 1 Princeton Instruments
PI-Max 512RB Digital ICCD Camera System with 7361-0001
Thermoelectrically Cooled Camera Head. Part No. PI-MAX 512RB
18-GII-FG-P43 or equal. See attached specifications. Quantity 2 each.
Item No. 2 Princeton Instruments Model ST133 Camera Controller withhigh
PCI Interface Package. Part No. ST-133 Dual 16/100 16/1M PTG or equal.
See attached specifications. Quantity 2 each. Item No. 3 Mounting Kit,
includes extra mount adaptor to attach standard "C" mount lenses to
camera and a amount adaptor to attach the camera to a spectrometer. The
camera comes with a Nikon boyonet "F" mount installed. See atached
specifications. Quantity 1 each. This procurement is being conducted
under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to
purchase the items from Roper Scientific, 3660 Quakerbridge Rd.,
Trenton, NJ 08619. This sole source is based on predominant experience
and system compatibility. The Government intends to acquire a
commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit
their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing
to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time
on August 25, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated
solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this
procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government
not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition
basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the
discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in
response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer
which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been
