D -- ACCESS TO THE INSTITUTE FOR SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION (ISI) WEB OF SCIENCE DATABASE DUE 103000 POC Christopher Belt, Contract Specialist, Ph: 301-435-0366, Fax: 301-480-3345 NIH intends to procure on a sole source basis to the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the annual subscription to the ISI, Web of Science (Science and Social Science Citation Indexes) for the Department of Health and Human Services, CDC. In addition to the above, ISI shall provide maintenance services in the form of periodic software updates and technical help support. This requirement will be obtained through a modification of current NIH Contract Number N02-OR-8-2059 with ISI. This current contract is for NIH access to the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) through the web of science database. The modification to this contract will allow the CDC to access the web of science through NIH servers. It is believed that ISI is the sole source for this requirement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 because of the proprietary nature of the ISI Web of Science. The Institute for Scientific (ISI), web of science database is the only legal source for the web of science, copyrighted works. The period of performance will be for the duration of contract number N02-OR-8-2059. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 10 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
