Smithsonian Institution is seeking proposals to furnish museum exhibition design and architect-engineering services for the "Behring Family Hall of Mammals" exhibition to be located at the National Museum of Natural History, in Washington, D.C. The size of the exhibition area is approximately 25,000 square feet. The selected designer will perform all exhibition design services to complete the conceptual design phase including preparation of a preliminary cost estimate of each gallery for construction, mock-ups,testing and fabrication. The designer will also be required to provide architect-engineering design services related to the design work effort. A/E design services shall include but not be limited to, life safety, ADA, architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and lighting design as related to the exhibit design. The basic "white box" structure shall be completed outside the scope of this contract. Optional services may include exhibition design development, final design/engineering/detailing, and fabrication/construction phase services.
