A -- THE OSTEOARTHRITIS INITIATIVE DATA COORDINATING CENTER DRAFT SOLICITATION The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), National Institutes of Health (NIH), intends to post on its website, on or about August 15, 2000, a draft solicitation for The Osteoarthritis Initiative Data Coordinating Center. The draft solicitation, NIH-NIAMS-RFP-01-01, includes only background information, the statement of work, reporting requirements, and evaluation criteria. The formal Request for Proposals document, to be issued after we receive comments from the public, will include a sample contract document with terms and conditions, technical and business proposal instructions as well as all the necessary attachments for submitting a proposal. The draft document may be accessed through the Internet at the following address: http://www.nih.gov/niams/grants/rfp/rfplist.htm Interested parties are responsible for downloading their own copy of the draft solicitation and are encouraged to review the draft document and provide comments. Written comments should be forwarded to the NIAMS at the email address indicated in the draft solicitation by no later than September 12, 2000. All comments received by this date will be fully considered in preparation of the final Request for Proposals document. However, the Government reserves the right to alter the final solicitation as it deems appropriate. Prospective offerors are cautioned not to rely on the information provided in the draft solicitation as being the same or similar to the information that will ultimately be issued as the formal Request for Proposals.
