99 -- ATTN POTENTIAL COAST GUARD CONTRACTORS ATTENTION POTENTIAL COAST GUARD CONTRACTORS: Effective 1 November 2000, the U. S. Coast Guard, Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, Alameda, CA will be utilizing an Electronic Posting System (EPS) for posting all future solicitations and synopses. The EPS can be accessed at www.eps.gov from any personal computer with Internet access and a browser equivalent to Netscape 2.02 or later, and/or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0. Solicitations can be downloaded at this website. However, proposals cannot be submitted electronically at this time. Firms who have limited experience in or capacity to work with Internet accessed documents or computer diskette documents may be assisted by their local business library, Small Business Development Center, or the local office of the U. S. Small Business Administration (under U. S. Government in the phone book). A synopsis of MLCPAC solicitations and awards will appear in the EPS system as well as the CBD. At this time solicitations will still be available in hard copy, but we are encouraging that all contractors start the transition to downloading solicitations. We will notify you of the date in the future that we will limit the availability of hard copies and will only mail them out on a case by case basis.
