42 -- FURNISH AND INSTALL TOWER RESCUE KITS SOL 52WCNW006033JAS POC Jackie Shewmaker, Contract Specialist, (816) 426-7129, extension 221 The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA intends to contract for components and assembly of Tower Rescue Kits No. 1 and 2 for the National Weather Service (NWS), National Logistics Support Center (NLSC) in Kansas City, Missouri. The contractor will furnish and assemble tower rescue kits based on a specific list of equipment which will be included with the Solicitation. The tower rescue kits shall (a) meet applicable American Standard Institute (ANSI) and Canadian Standard Association (CSA) standards, (b) meet applicable OSHA regulations, (c) be compatible with the NWS Fall Arrest Systems. The Fall Arrest System that the NWS personnel is using includes modified DBI/Sala 7313 tower climbing harness, Miller 8878D6R double-legged lanyard, and Miller Mighty-light Self-retractable lifelines, (d) have the same components as rescue kits currently used in NWS fall protection training, (e) have directions for complete system use, not just component use and (f) be assembled turn-key, ready for immediate use. Interested parties are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days of it's publication. A solicitation will be issued approximately fifteen (15) days after publication of this notice.
