COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 15,2000 PSA#2664 AIR FORCE ASSOCIATION SYMPOSIUM: INTEGRATING AIR FORCE C2 CAPABILITIES
BY 2005 The Paul Revere Chapter of the Air Force Association, with
the assistance of the Electronic Systems Center (ESC) of the Air Force
Materiel Command (AFMC), will host a C2 symposium on "Integrating Air
Force C2 Capabilities by 2005." This symposium will create a framework
leading to a "Command and Control Summit" in the Fall 2001, and will
build upon last years symposium, "C2 as a Weapon System-Technology
Supporting AEF." The symposium will be held at the Hanscom AFB
Officers' Club on October 18th and 19th 2000. The agenda will focus on
exploring operational concepts, technical issues, and business
concerns regarding the current direction of the Air Force, the
Electronic System Center, and Industry. Invited feature speakers
include: Dr. Wells, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense
(C3I); Lt Gen Woodward, Dir C4 Systems, J-6, Joint Staff; Lt Gen
Hornburg, Vice Commander ACC; Lt Gen Kenne, Commander Electronic
Systems Center; RADM Nutwell, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for
C3ISR & Space; Mr. Barringer, Tech Director Aerospace Command and
Control and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Center; Maj
Gen (ret) Nelson, Scientific Advisory Board member; BGen Salisbury,
USEUCOM, J-6; BGen Obering, SAF/AQI; Dr. Sorenson, Sr. VP & GM Center
for Air Force C2 Systems at Mitre; and Mr. White, Chief Technologist,
Oracle Services Industry. Cost is $375 for Industry, and $200 for

and related programs at ESC will be exchanged. This includes the
identification of issues and answers, as well as the opportunity for
industry managers to dialogue with their Government counterparts. The
symposium will feature presentations by military and civilian speakers
from various services, agencies, industry and FFRDC's.
Government-industry Panel sessions will focus on specific aspects of
Command and Control. These panels will explore operational
architecture, integrating concepts, business concepts, commercial and
military technologies, and coalition/joint service
linkages/interoperability. AFA Government and Industry members will be
