E-MAIL: Jacklyn L. Norman, Jacklyn.Norman-1@ksc.nasa.gov. NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Upgrade to Laser Shearography Systems. These upgrades must be interchangeable and compatible with the existing systems, and must be capable of detecting small disbands in Spray-On Foam Insulation (SOFI) used on the Space Shuttle External Tank. NASA/KSC intends to purchase the upgrade from Laser Technology, Inc., 1055 West Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA 19403. Laser Technology, Inc., is the only known source that can perform the services/upgrades in question. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Interested firms have until August 21, 2000 to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities shall provide adequate detail for evaluation and will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the specified date or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
