67 -- SCIENTIFIC GRADE CCD CAMERA SOL 175304 DUE 082500 POC Contract Administrator: Kelly B. Mitchell-Baynes (301/827-7164), Contracting Officer: Ida Cofield (301/827-7156), Fax: (301/827-7151) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items or services prepared in accordance with format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ No. 175304). The solicitation clauses and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-18. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3821. This requirement is set aside for small businesses; the size standard is 750 employees. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has a requirement for one (1) Scientific grade CCD camera. The specifications for the Scientific grade CCD camera are as follows: The camera shall have a matrix size of at least 1250 x 1250 pixels. The pixels shall be squared, and have a minimum linear dimension of 20 microns. The quantum efficiency of the device shall be 90% or better at 550 nm. The single pixel full-well capacity shall be 200,000 electrons or greater. The camera shall be capable of being operated cooled, using a thermoelectric cooler. Operating temperatures of 40 degrees C when backfilled with dry nitrogen and 55 degrees C under vacuum shall be achievable. The cooling system controller shall be able to regulate temperature to plus or minus 0.04 degrees C over the entire operating temperature range. Output shall be 16 bits. Read noise shall be less than or equal to 5 electrons under best operating conditions. Dark current shall be less than 0.5 electrons per pixel per second at 50 degrees C. Nonlinearity shall be less than 2%, and nonuniformity shall be less than 4% over the entire CCD area, excluding blemish regions. The system shall have user-selectable amplifiers providing high sensitivity and high capacity. The high capacity amplifier shall be able to handle the output of 4 binned pixels without saturation (800,000-electron capacity). The system shall have a shutter and accept F-mount (Nikon) lenses. The system shall be provided with interface electronics compatible with a PCI bus PC, and control, acquisition, display and data processing software compatible with the Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation operating system. The software shall also be compatible with the National Instruments Lab View application development software system. The system shall be provided with all cabling interconnection hardware required for operation. This equipment must include a standard warranty one-year on parts and labor. All quotes shall include price(s); FOB point, a poc (name and telephone number); GSA contract number if applicable; delivery date, and a nine digit numeric DUNS number that is assigned by Dun & Bradstreet.
