nicolas_scatena@udlp.com. United Defense Limited Partnership (UDLP) has
been awarded a contract from the Army Office of Program Management,
(OPM) Crusader, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ for the development of the next
generation Self Propelled Howitzer (SPH) and Resupply Vehicle (RSV).
The software reliability program has been identified as an item, which
requires subcontractor development. . The subcontractor shall provide
support required for the software reliability effort. This effort
includes a quantitative study of the operational behavior of the
software with respect to user requirements. Below is a list of the
expected tasks: 1. Develop, document and implement a pilot software
reliability test methodology with the goal of determining the
reliability of Release 3 software based on testing performed at the
segment software level in the Integrated Crusader Environment. The
preferred methodology is based on statistical usage modeling. Other
methodologies may be investigated and developed, based on written
approval of the Technical Point of Contact. The pilot program will
start with R3 Build 2 and complete with analysis and assessment of R3
segment software reliability. This task is scheduled for the time
period of October 00-March 01. 2. Implement segment software
reliability assessment methodology developed during the pilot project,
item (1 above), to determine the reliability of PDRR segment software
for each build of Release 5. This task is scheduled for the time
period of April 01-Feburary 03. 3. Develop, document, calibrate and
verify a Crusader software reliability prediction model based on a
dynamic representation of the Crusader software development process. It
is preferred that the model be implemented in Extend modeling software,
Imagine That, Inc. and Microsoft Office. Other software tools may be
utilized, based on written approval of the Technical Point of Contact.
The model shall be developed using existing Crusader software
development process documentation, test results and any additional
documentation added to the process specifically for this effort. This
task is scheduled for the time period of April 01-Feburary 03. A
Request for Proposal (RFP) is expected to be released in early
September 2000 for the Right Flank phase of the Crusader program. The
period of performance for this effort is 1 October 2000 thru 25 April
