E-MAIL: Venessa L. Jankowski, venessa.jankowski1@jsc.nasa.gov. NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for a Cost Sharing Type Contract for Commercial Information Technology Training. In general, the Contractor will provide the following products and services: 1.) Provide facilities within close proximity to JSC. 2.) Provide up-to-date hardware/software. 3.) Identify whether to contract with vendors or develop courses, depending on which would provide the greatest cost savings. 4.) Help fill empty seats through other interested companies. 5.) Prepare the hardware/software for each class. 6.) Evaluate courses to determine successful areas as well as identify potential areas for improvement. 7.) Provide rosters and evaluations to NASA point of contact. NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from the San Jacinto College of Pasadena, TX. These items will be purchased under the authority of FAR 6.302-1,10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. An exhaustive market survey was conducted and it was determined that no other source has the ability to provide the resources necessary to meet all of the Government needs. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 29, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
