sought synopsis is to effect a market survey to determine whether
potential sources are available to provide various repair parts for the
PATRIOT Missile Radar System. The requirement consists of 26 packages

Radar Set AN/MPQ-53 Front End Parts; (D) Low Noise Receiver Parts; (E)
Antenna Sidelobe Reduction Parts; (F) Radar Set Parts; (G) Engagement
Control Station (ECS) Shelter Parts; (H) Radar Set, Semi-Trailer
Mounted AN/MPQ-53 Parts; (I) Pulse Doppler Parts; (J) Optical Disk
Upgrade for the Extended Weapons Control Computer (EWCC); (K) EWCC
Parts; (L) Single Board Computer (SBC) for communication in the ECS;
(M) Media for the ECS; (N) Circuit Card Assembly for the Digital Clock
Synchro Module (DCSM); (O) Circuit Card Assembly for the Radio
Frequency Level Detector (RFLD); (P) Circuit Card Assembly for the
Radar GPS/NFS Input/Output (RGNIO); (Q) Control Unit Group

Presently it is the Government's intent to Sole Source this requirement
to Raytheon Company, 350 Lowell St., Andover, MA 01810. Raytheon
Company is the actual manufacturer and the only source known with the
expertise, knowledge, and technical data package (TDP) and special
inspection equipment (SIE) required to produce these items. The SIE is
government owned and located at the contractor's facilities. The SIE
is composed of large floor mounted metal cabinet consoles which are
connected to a master facility computer system that controls the SIE
and records and processes the test data derived from testing the
PATRIOT system hardware. Specific pieces of SIE could not be removed
from the contractor's facilities and given to another contractor for
use in testing PATRIOT hardware. The SIE cannot be used without the
contractor's computer controlled system. The SIE is not mobile and is
used to test and accept other spare parts being produced under
Government contracts. The contractor must be capable of furnishing all
packages/parts without exception. Firms responding are requested to
identify whether they are small business, nonprofit organization, or
large business. The entire requirement of 26 packages consists of at
least 180 drawings. A list of drawing numbers is available upon written

should submit written qualifications to Directorate of Contracting,
Bldg 2, ATTN: AMSAM-LE-KO, CPT James P. Ross, Letterkenny Army Depot,

fifteen (15) days from the publication of this announcement. This
synopsis is advance notice for information and planning purposes only
