The system is required to record hydrophone data for the Pacific Missile Range Facility's (PMRF) Barking Sands Underwater Tactical Range and other expansion ranges. GENERAL REQUIREMENT: The system should include dual, high data-rate digital recorders, analog/digital and digital/analog converters, multiplexing and demultiplexing units, a patch panel interface and software graphic user interface. The equipment shall dynamically assign recording bandwidth depending on hydrophone select messages provided by the PMRF UTS Ethernet. At least 50 hydrophones will have to be recorded and played back at any one time. Mux/Demux Subsystem requirement: shall digitize and multiplex the hydrophone data into a telemetry stream for recording, shall be capable of handling at least 50 channels with an analog bandwidth of 40 kHz per channel or greater, the A/D and D/A converters shall be no less than 10 bits and shall be synchronously latched to preserve the original channel to channel timing relationship to within 10 microseconds, header information shall be integrated into the data stream; Tape Recording Subsystem requirement: shall be capable of recording the digital data stream corresponding to the maximum data rate generated by at least 50 channels of hydrophone data; System Electrical Specifications: shall be able to record and play back a maximum hydrophone signal level of 1 Volt-RMS as measured in a 40 kHz band, the dynamic range of the system shall not be less than 60db, Inter-channel cross-talk and distortion measured during playback shall be less than 60 dbv when recording a 1 VRMS tone at 13 kHz and 37 kHz, all out-of-band signals shall be a minimum of 50 dB down from the peak output level, and be compatible with a hydrophone signal source impedance of just a few ohms, anti-aliasing filters required; External Interfaces requirement: shall input and output analog hydrophone signals to the PMRF Tape Recorder Patch Bay. The contractor shall provide 178 (ea) sixty-foot long "Record" coaxial cables and 178 (ea) sixty-foot long "Replay" coaxial cables terminated with Trompeter PL50 plugs to mate with a Government furnished tape recorder patch bay. Detailed specifications will be provided in RFP. Delivery and installation at Kekaha, HI. Requirement to include onsite operation and maintenance and software training, and documentation. Anticipate FFP contract. Completion of project within 180 days ADC. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered.
