CONDITION MONITORING The 13th International Congress on Condition
Monitoring and Diagnostic Engineering Management (COMADEM) will be held
in Houston, Texas, USA on December 3-8, 2000 at the Houston Marriott
Westside. The MFPT Society in cooperation with the Vibration Institute
is organizing and hosting the conference. Dr. Raj B.K.N. Rao, Director

the MFPT Web Site. The six courses are offered concurrently on December
7 and 8, 2000. Those interested must therefore choose only one course.
The six courses are: "Overview of CBM and Predictive Maintenance
Technologies, Machinery Vibration Analysis, Advanced Signal Analysis,
Machinery Oils and Oil Analysis, Reliability Processes and Systems for
Business Performance Improvement, and State-of-the-Art in Structural
Damage Detection". Congress delegates and/or accompanying persons will
also be able to select from Special Tours described on the web. The
Technical Program begins with an Opening Session in which several
distinguished invited speakers will discuss the importance of Condition
Monitoring and Condition Based Maintenance to various industries. Mr.
Andrew J. (Andy) Hess from the Naval Air Warfare Center will deliver
the Keynote Address entitled "The Evolution of Aviation Mechanical
Systems Monitoring: The A-7E to the Joint Strike Fighter". RADM Marc
Y.N. Pelaez (USN,Ret.), Vice President of Business and Technology
Development at Newport News Shipbuilding will speak on "CBM on Aircraft
Carriers". Mr. Richard A. Curless' paper is entitled "Advanced
