DOI REQUEST INDUSTRY TO PARTNER WITH DOI AND MUSEUM SUPPLIERS The Department of Interior, Office of the Secretary, National Business Center, Interior Museum Program (IMP) is interested in entering into a partnership agreement with museum suppliers in order for DOI to be notified of technological advancements and/or technological breakthroughs in museum equipment, supplies and services for the preservation and care of museum objects. The DOI is interested in reviewing and being notified all types of new products, to address all types of museum preservation techniques (whether using traditional or new technology) and for all types of usage (i.e. storage, etc.). This partnership and CBD announcement are being used to provide a broad range of suppliers the opportunity to present their commercially available technological advancements to the attention of DOI museum curators for evaluation and consideration purposes. All types of products are of interest in order to reduce environmental deterioration of museum objects within DOI. Due to the vast amount of assets and specialty items that are available in the market place, a partnership between DOI and industry will only enhance preservation methods and efforts of DOI museum curators who are responsible for artifacts that are heritage assets and must be preserved. For initial screening purposes, interested parties are requested to submit preliminary samples, catalogs and/or brief technical descriptions (1-2 paragraphs) plus cost information. Interested parties are encouraged to provide most favored customer pricing for their preliminary samples for consideration, evaluation and consideration purposes. Interested parties will be requested to sign a partnership agreement with DOI after submission of their samples or catalogs.
