The project involves the construction of a new Post Office Building of
approximately 3,605 sq.ft. (gross). Sitework for the project includes
but is not limited to demolition of the existing post office building,
earthwork, site utilities and site improvements, paving, and
landscaping. Building construction includes concrete foundations and
slab-on-grade, wood framing and structure, wood trusses and decking,
roof shingles, sheet metal, exterior brick masonry veneer, interior
wood stud partitions, building insulation, aluminum storefront and
framing, glass and glazing. Also required are metal doors, wood doors,
metal frames, door hardware, metal fabrications, toilet partitions and
accessories, interior and exterior signage, loading deck equipment, a
complete heating, ventilating and air conditioning system, and
electrical, and security sytems. Interior finishes include painted
gypsum board walls and ceilings, acoustical lay-in ceilings, resilient
tile floors, and carpeting. The project requires custom cabinets and
fixtures. Related work not listed may be required in order to provide
the USPS a finished postal facility ready for occupancy and use upon
completion of theproject. Prior to beginning other work, the Contractor
will be required to relocate the existing modular unit, install a new
modular unit, construct a covered entry way, provide utility services
and perform other work required to provide a temporary on-site facility
for USPS operations during the construction period. Other work required
includes maintenance and improvement to the existing well water system
and the construction of an on-site non-mechanical sewage processing
system. Phasing of construction operations will be required due to
existing site limitations. During construction, the Contractor will
have full use of the Project site, except for that portion of the site
required for temporary USPS facilities including access routes and
customer or employee parking areas. The estimated price range is
between $500,000 and $750,000 with completion within 300 calendar days
after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The sub-contracting minority
dollar goals for this entire project is 13% of total project cost. Due
diligence must be exercised in order to meet this goal. Failure of the
contractor to comply in good faith with these requirements is a
