This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA Ames Research Center has a need to procure the following supplies and services: 30 Each; Survivair Panther series Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) including MightyLight backframe assembly, high pressure regulator, air hose assembly, series series X17161 high pressure breathing air cylinder with valve, fully wrapped carbon fiber (no exception), Survivair TwentyTwenty black facepiece with Head Retention System, nose cup and clear visor, HV cordura storage system, with series X45WWA warbling whistle and redundent alarm assembly, X62600 integral personal alarm compass locator, and 9287X repair and maintenance parts kit (18 piece). 25 Each; Survivair TwentyTwenty black medium facepiece with nose cup and KV Head Retention System. 30 Each; Survivair spare CARB60, 4500 PSI carbon fiber cylinder, with valve, filled, per Survivair Straight Sets Promotion. 1 each; BioSystems PosiCheck Hi/Lo tester with #SVAL46 adapter kit, and #J97 program specific software. This item shall include start up and two hour training class at the users facility by authorized factory PosiCheck distributer and manufacturer employee. Inclusive of all items, separate of the PosiCheck System, successful vendor shall provide two, four-hour user startup, fit testing and maintenance training sessions, provided on two seperate shift days for the end user, at the end users facility in Northern California. An authorized Survivair distributer and Survivair's direct employee acting as a field representative shall conduct the training. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-19 This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 5999 and 500, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery to Ames Research Center is required within 45 days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. Quotations for the items described above are due by 2:00pm 08/25/00 and may be mailed or faxed to NASA-Ames Research Center, ATTN:Jeff S.
