The objective of the Direct M effort is to identify and develop the technologies required to allow future GPS-aided platforms and weapons to achieve direct, rapid precision-code (M-code) acquisition or reacquisition under electronically challenged combat conditions. The level of interference to overcome will be typical of that identified in the GPS Joint Program Office (JPO) sponsored Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) program. The specific performance objectives of the program will be selected to ensure GPS-aided platforms and weapons achieve effectiveness levels close to those attained in non-interference environments.
