Herting (202) 326-4160 The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) seeks to increase the maximum hours and staff under Option Years Three and Four of an existing contract for the operation and management of the Office of General Counsel's (OGC) Communications Center. The additional staff and labor hours and the additional managerial hours for Option Years Three and Four are necessary to continue the reorganization of more than 700 existing hard copy files and transfer related electronic entries in OGC's computerized legal case management system. The additional hours and staff also are required to create hard copy files and related electronic enteries in the legal management system for OGC's collection of policy and programmatic deliberations and decisions and other corporate documents of historical and legal significance. The current contract includes, but is not limited to, file, docketing, records retention and retrieval and communication services. This contract was awarded competively based on, among other criteria, the contractor's knowledge and understanding of the scope of work, the organization of the Communications Center and the operation of the computerized legal case management and information system. It is in the best interest of the PBGC for the current provider to complete this work by increasing the labor hours and staff under the existing contract. This increase under the existing contract will ensure continuity in the work, major completion by September 30, 2002, and accuracy in execution. This is not a request for proposal. See Note 22.
