COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 21,2000 PSA#2668 66 -- 30 CONS/LGCB INTENDS TO NEGOTIATE FOR SERVICES ON A SOLE SOURCE
BASIS WITH AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES The 30 CONS/LGCB, 30th Contracting
Squadron, Bldg 7015 Section 2C, 806 13th Street Suite 2, Vandenberg
AFB, CA 93437 is issuing this notice as it intends to negotiate on a
sole source basis Agilent Technologies, under authority of FAR 6.302,
for a one(1) year, Firm Fixed Price, Service/Supply Contract to include
four(4) optional one(1) year contracts to be renewed annually at the
discretion of the government for maintenance and repair of one(1)
Hewlett Packard 1100 Liquid Chromatograph with PAD. No solicitation
will be issued. This instrument provides analyses to quantify hydrazine
fuels and wastes. Contractor must be certified and provide factory
trained technicians from Agilent Technologies and assure timely repair
of this instrument. The California Laboratory Accreditation Program
has stipulated that a service contract with the instrument manufacturer
be initiated as a condition of laboratory accreditation. It is
anticipated that award of this requirement shall be on or about October
1, 2000. Services are currently being performed Agilent Technologies
using an existing contract vehicle. The North American Industry
Classification System (NAICS), which will replace SIC as of 01 Oct 00,
is 334516. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC), which will no longer be
used after 30 Sep 00, is 3826, 500 employees. Any response to this
notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would
be advantageous to the Government. In doing so, interested sources must
submit detailed technical capabilities, pricing, and any other
information, which demonstrates their ability to meet the Governments
needs. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to the above address
(Attn: SSgt William E. Barron reference F04684-01-QV008). All
information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the
Government. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for
quotations or proposals. A determination by the government not to
compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this
notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information
received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of
