The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-98-G-0037 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, PO Box 516, St. Louis, MO 62166-0516, to provide the design, development and testing of a modified Flight Control Computer (FCC) operation flight program for the F/A-18A/B/C/D fleet aircraft. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft, and is the only known firm possessing adequate existing knowledge, facilities, tooling, and special test equipment to provide the engineering support required to perform the modification of the FCC program on the F/A-18 aircraft in a timely manner.
