Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to provide official answers in response to questions received. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to August 23, 2000. 1. QUESTION: What is the required performance of the lens? Specifically, what testing must the vendor perform to make sure the lens is operating properly? ANSWER: Manufacture the lens to the prescription and tolerances that are provided. No additional testing is required. 2. QUESTION: What is the allowed space envelope of the lens system, including the barrel? ANSWER: There are no specific space envelope requirements. Use best commercial practice. 3. QUESTION: Can you supply LIS output from CodeV for the lens so that we can see information about the usage (i.e. clear apertures, stop position, etc.) of the lens (in addition to surface prescription). ANSWER: The Code V LIS will be provided electronically upon request. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on July 26, 2000. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet and are in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and reside on the World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
