The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to issue a contract to extend the range of the M795 Projectile to provide the ability to engage in greater distances and provide for a munition, which is compatible with the current and developmental delivery systems and their associated propellants. This will be accomplished through the use of a base burner assembly. The purpose of this effort is to supply a quantity of 60 M795E1 developmental projectile bodies for testing. The bodies will use the current steel and incorporate a similar geometric shape with comparable dimensional tolerances to the current body. A welded overlay band and ultrasonic inspection will be required. The rear of the body will be threaded to accept the base burn assembly. The development work must be done in a facility with proven equipment, process technology and manufacturing experience to surface producibility issues in production of the M795 projectile bodies.
