The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to issue a contract to extend the range of the M795 Projectile and provide the ability to engage at greater distances and provides for a munition, which is compatible with the current and developmental delivery systems and their associated propellants. This will be accomplished through the use of a base burner assembly, similar to the hardware designed and manufactured on the M864 Projectile. The contractor shall perform all necessary development and production testing for the base burner components. The contractor shall manufacture 33 inert and 20 live magnesium-teflon igniters for the M795E1 Base Burner. The contractor shall also disassemble 53 M864 Base Bleed Assemblies for use of the base closures. This action will be a sole source to Talley Defense Systems, Mesa, AZ., see Note 22.
