The Alaska Region of the USDA Forest Service intends to solicit proposals and award multiple fixed-price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts with priced options for a wide variety of professional natural resource services throughout the states of Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. Negotiated task orders will be issued for specific services against awarded contracts. The basic contract and priced options, if exercised, will be for a period of 5 years. The basis for contract award(s) will be by competitive source selection using evaluation criteria other than price. The general work areas include National Environmental Policy Act projects requiring various levels of resource analysis, field investigations, public involvement, alternative development, and preparation of documents; landscape analysis; public involvement requiring setting up and conducting public meetings and consolidation and analysis of responses to requests for public input; watershed analysis; writing and editing; natural resource studies requiring field surveys, report preparation, evaluations and assessments for various disciplines, heritage resource studies requiring design and implementation of surveys for historic or pre-historic resources, documentation of findings, effects analysis and report preparation; geographic information systems work including digitizing, designing, and conducting resource mapping projects and analysis of the results; silvicultural examinations and prescriptions; karst geology studies; social and economic studies, log transfer facility studies including field investigation, preliminary design, effects assessment, and document preparation, timber management and timber sale preparation including unit boundary location and surveys. The estimated start work date is 092600. The contract time is estimated for 2 years.
