COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 22,2000 PSA#2669 U.S. GEOLOGIC SURVEY SEEKS PARTNERS TO COMMERCIALIZE AN AUTOMATED
ELECTRONIC SEEPAGE METER The US Geological Survey (USGS) is actively
seeking industrial partners and collaborators for the commercialization
and further development of an Automated Electronic Seepage Meter. The
USGS technology allows users to measure flow rates of surface water to
ground water and vice versa for extended periods of weeks or months.
In field trials the device has proved to be less susceptible to
currents and wave action, as well as the biofouling which affects other
available models. The invention can be used in lake beds and ocean
bottoms to examine mass and chemical balances, and to characterize
hydrologic systems; it may have applications of interest to oil
exploration. E-MAIL: Click here to contact the Technology Enterpirse
