S -- - INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRCT WITH THE TRIBAL GOVERNMENT OF ST. PAUL ISLAND, AK. Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with the Tribal Government of St. Paul for the National Marine Mammal Lab (NMML). Purpose of contract is to enlist aid from Tribal Government Conservation Officers on St. Paul Island, Alaska. Conservation officers will assist NMML in monitoring seal rookeries disturbances, monitoring sea lion hunting activities, monitoring subsistence seal harvesting, and provide year-round rookery and shoreline monitoring/observations for changes and/or disturbances. Period of performance is 10/1/00 -- 9/30/01. This is a government-to-government agreement. Due to unique nature of work, no other source able to provide services on this remote island in Alaska.
