Z -- SIDEWALK SOL RFQ 20802-0011 POC Thomas Dufort, Regional Contract Specialist, (570) 547-1641, ext. 539 SOLICITATION NOTICE: Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to complete a sidewalk project located at the Federal Correctional Institution located in Loretto, Pennsylvania. The work will consist the demolition and removal of approximately 1875 square feet of sidewalk and approximately 1630 square feet of slabs; the pouring of sidewalk/ramps approximating 850 linear feet of concrete to a depth of 5 inches and a width of seventy-two inches; the pouring of 7 slabs approximating a total of 7,800 square feet of reinforced concrete; and, the installation of approximately 800 linear feet of handrail. Other associated work will be required as detailed in the specifications. All work will be required compliant with the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standard Regulations. Contract employees will be required to undergo certain security requirements to permit access within the secured perimeter of the institution. Handrails shall also comply with the American Disability Act. The Contractor shall have 120 calendar days from the receipt of the Notice To Proceed to complete the job. The work is projected to begin in October 2000. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for small businesses only. Background investigations/clearances will be required of Contractor employees. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this project is 1611 (size standard is $27.5 million). It is anticipated that solicitation packages for a firm-fixed-priced contract will be available about September 5, 2000, with receipt of quotations being due approximately 3 weeks later.
