Note 22 -- Sole Source The HMMWV is a highly mobile, 1 1/4 ton, 4x4 vehicle which performs various special and multi-purpose missions in combat, combat support, and combat service support roles for the U.S. Army, USMC, USN, USAF, and Foreign Military Sales customers. The vehicle is capable of operating off-road, on trails, and on secondary and primary roads. There are nine different models that will be acquired under this contract. They are: -M1097A2, Heavy Variant -M1123, USMC Heavy Variant -M1025A2, Armament Carrier, Basic Armor -M1035A2, 2-Litter, Soft Top Ambulance -M997A2, 4-Litter, Basic Armor Ambulance -M1043A2, Armament Carrier, Supplemental Armor -M1045A2 TOW Carrier, Supplemental Armor -M1113 Expanded Capacity Vehicle -Expanded Capacity Vehicle Chassis (for the Up Armor Version) The proposed acquisition is for a quantity of vehicles and associated kits plus training and Field Service Representative support over a period of seven years. This acquisition will be procured sole source with AM General Corporation, South Bend, Indiana. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price, one (1) year basic contract for a quantity of 2861, with a 100% option, plus six (6) fixed price option years of 150% against the first year, will be awarded.
