The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to issue a sole-source, five-year, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) fixed price contract to Cable and Computer Technology, Inc., (CCT) of Anaheim, CA, for multiple data switching systems and associated subassemblies. The required data switching equipment implements a design developed by the Government and CCT under contract N00178-95-D-2001. The required data switching system simultaneously switches multiple, dissimilar Naval Tactical Data System (NTDS) serial and parallel signal types. The system is expandable to over 2000 ports operating without blocking and under a single controller previously developed by the Government. The modularly configurable system provides very low latency and very low bit error rates. The system transmits NTDS signals over distances up to 300 meters between components while remaining transparent to the sending and receiving equipment. Delivery of each complete data switching system is required ten months after receipt of order to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, VA. A one-year system warranty is required. The minimum guaranteed obligation is one 300-port data switching system. An estimated maximum quantity of 20 complete data switching systems and additional components may be ordered over the five-year period. The solicitation for this requirement will be issued on or about 1 December 2000.
