The U.S. Department of Energy, Nevada Operations Office (DOE/NV), intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Stone & Webster Inc., a Shaw Group Company, for the services of Carl Mazzola. Mr. Mazzola will provide high-level technical assistance towards the design, development and implementation of emergency response consequence assessment modeling. Mr. Mazzola has 30 years of technical experience in the solution of highly complex atmospheric transport and dispersion problems and atmospheric transport and dispersion modeling, chemical and/or radiological atmospheric dispersion analysis. Mr. Mazzola has hands-on experience in performing meteorological analysis on dose, chemical concentration, and health effects, and is an expert on methodologies and computer codes that have been used. Mr. Mazzola is a Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) by the American Meteorological Society and has significant experience in addressing meteorological program issues with the DOE Meteorological Coordinating Council (DMCC) and the Meteorology Technical Committee (MTC). Mr. Mazzola is a recognized expert in meteorological issues related to compliance with DOE Orders, requirements for emergency response planning and to consequence assessment procedures. He is also a member of the DOE Meteorological Coordinating Council that is responsible for providing professional consultation to DOE meteorological programs.
