The Air Armament Center, Precision Strike System Program Office intends to solicit and award a contract for the maintenance of the Air Force Mission Support System (AFMSS) Weapon Planning Module (WPM) for the AGM-130, GBU-15 and AGM-142 weapon systems. This effort will begin approximately Jan 2001. We anticipate a 1 year effort with options for up to 5 additional years to sustain these systems on their hosting aircraft (F-15E and B-52H) until they have transitioned to the Joint Mission Planning Systems (JMPS) Precision Guided Munitions Planning Software (PGMPS). Firms responding to this notice should indicate whether they are a small or small disadvantaged business. We anticipate a full and open competition, however the Government reserves the right for a Small Business Set-aside. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for the proposed effort is 7371 with an annual income of $18M. Interested sources should contact Ms. Ouida A. An ombudsman has been appointed to address concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
