E-MAIL: Janet K. Reese, jreese@wstf.nasa.gov. THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR a 200 KW EMERGENCY ENGINE GENERATOR SET. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s)in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to respond to the following questions which were submitted. 1) Will the generator be installed inside or outdoors? Answer: The generator will be outside. 2) If outdoors does the enclosure need sound attenuation? Answer: The outdoor enclosure does not need sound attenuation. The only sound attenuation is on the exhaust. 3) Is an automatic transfer switch required? Answer: Yes. An automatic transfer switch is required (400 amp. 3 pole, 4 wire, Automatic Transfer Switch in a NEMA 1 enclosure with engine start contacts, shipped loose for field mounting). 4) What is the approximate distance from the generator location and the power panel being supplied? Answer: The approximate distance is 90 feet. 5) Is the unit enclosed in a weather proof enclosure? Answer: Yes, the unit will need a weather proof enclosure as it will be installed outside. 6) Main Line Circuit Breaker Required? Answer: Yes, a main line circuit breaker is required. The circuit breaker in section 4.4 of the specifications was intended to be a main line circuit breaker. 7) What type of fuel tank is required, if any, what capacity? Answer: The fuel tank described in section 3.6 was intended to be mounted with the generator on the same size pad. The capacity was stated to hold enough fuel to last 24 hours, assuming 100% loaded. 8) What grade silencer? Answer: The exhaust silencer was described as an industrial rated exhaust silencer that will attenuate the exhaust noise to less than 75 dBA at 3 feet.
