FOR RF COXIAL CABLE. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in
their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject
synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of
this amendment is to list ten critical specifications for the RF
coaxial cable requirement as follow: (1) Cables must have a nominal 50
Ohm impedance from DC to 26.5 GHz (2) Cables must have an Insertion
Loss no greater than 0.40 dB per meter at 1 GHz 1.35 dB per meter at 10
GHz 1.85 dB per meter at 18 GHz 2.25 dB per meter at 26.5 GHz (3)
Cables must have an Outer Diameter No Larger Than 0.25 Inch, with a
bend radius not less than 0.5 Inch. (4) Cables must have an Fluorinated
Ethylene Propylene (FEP) Teflon Outer Jacket material. (5) Cables must
utilize Stainless Steel Radio-Frequency Connectors (conforming to
MIL-C-39012) with VSWR of 1.20:1 or better over the following
frequencies: Precision N Connectors: DC -- 18 GHz Precision TNC
Connectors: DC -- 18 GHz Non-Precision SMA Connectors: DC -- 18 GHz
Precision SMA Connectors: DC -- 26.5 GHz (6) Absolutely NO Cadmium
materials or alloys whatsoever (for use in Thermal-Vacuum Chambers for
Human Safety/Carcinogens) (7) Stranded (not Solid) Silver-Plated
Copper Wire Center Conductor (8) Cables and connectors must be rated to
withstand temperatures from -65 degrees C to +165 degrees C. (9)
Dielectric Material must be Low density PTFE per MIL-C-17, with a
dielectric constant ranging between 1.4 and 1.7. (10) Cables must be
Double-Shielded per the following specifications: (a) Inner shield:
Silver-plated copper tape per ASTM B-298, helically wrapped with 40%
minimum overlap between layers (b) Outer Shield: Silver-plated copper
wire per ASTM B-298, tightly braided over the inner shield. The due
date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the
information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition
Internet Service (NAIS) on or before September 7, 2000. Documents
