99 -- MOUSE BREEDING SERVICES FOR A BASE YEAR AND THREE OPTION YEARS SOL NIH-NIDDK-00-571 DUE 090500 POC Desiree Kelly 301-594-7731 The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase Mouse Breeding Services for a Base Year and three option years. Base Year One to include the service of: Generation of congenic M2, M3, M4 and M5 muscarinic receptor KO lines Backcrossees # 1-4 including genotyping) and genereation of M2/M3 receptor double KO mice (including genotyping) OptionYear Two to include the service of: Generation of congenic M2, M3, M4 and M5 muscarinic receptor KO lines, Backcrosses # 5-8 (including genotyping) Option Year Three to include the service of: Generation of congenic M2, M3, M4 and M5 muscarini receptor KO lines: Backcrosses # 9-12 (including genotyping) A Statement of Work describing the services in detail will be provided as part of the Request for Quote package. The Institute intends to obtain this service by other than full and open competition from Taconic Farms, 273 Hover Ave, Germantown, NY 12526. The Standard Classification Code is 9999. All responsible business sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be within the Simplified Acquisition Threshold for Commercial purchases up 5 million dollars. To the best of the Governments knowledge the proposed contractor is the only known source with specific mouse breeding that have mice that are pathogenic free and already been deposited and rederived in accordance with NIH Interagency Animal Model Committee and sanctioned for use by NIDDK. If a mouse breeder is to perform in the described services, the mouse lines would first need to be deposited and rederived (cesarean section) to ensure that all mice are absolutely pathogen-free. It is anticipated that Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-00-571 will be available fifteen (15) days after the release of the RFQ. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is September 18, 2000.
