E-MAIL: Maria D. Hutcheson, maria.d.hutcheson.1@gsfc.nasa.gov. NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of frequency extension modules and associated calibration kits. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Oleson Microwave Labs of Morgan Hill, CA. NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center requires the capability to perform millimeter wave S-Parameter measurements to 220 GHZ and beyond in support of microwave/millimeter-wave instrument development. Our market research identified only Oleson Microwave Labs as manufacturers of modules allowing vector network analyzer (VNA) millimeter-wave measurements to these frequencies. In addition, the modules must be compatible with an HP 8510C VNA, which is existing government-owned equipment required to interface these modules. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on September 7, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
