This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals/bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ) #858531, the provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC #97-18. The solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a Small Business-Small Purchase Set-Aside. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3842 and the business Size Standard is 500 employees. This will be a Firm-Fixed price solicitation. The Government intends to acquire competitive prices on the following items: 1) TYCHEM 10,000 Level B Coverall; elastic respirator fit hood, elastic wrist, boot feet, lime yellow, thermal bond, storm flap cover over zipper, certified compliant to ANSI/ISEA 101-1993, full length non-sparking zipper, performance series. The following sizes and quantities: a) size large -- qty 17, b) size Xlarge -- qty 17, c) size XXlarge -- qty 17, d) size XXXlarge -- qty 17. 2) Tingley Hazproof Boot; room to fit over encapsulated suit, closure system that can be fastened and unfastened quickly even while wearing gloves, made of polymer material, provides maximum chemical resistance, complies with ANSI Z41 PT M I/75 C/75, PR. NFPA 1991-4, SEI certified. The following sizes and quantities: a) size 7 -- qty 20, b) size 8 -- qty 21, c) size 9 -- qty 24, d) size 10 -- qty 24, e) size 11 -- qty 15, f) size 12 -- qty 8, g) size 13 -- qty 8. 3) Trellchem TLU Level A chemical suit; 2 layers of super polymeric barrier film laminated on both sides to a strong woven flexible substrate, tested for eight hours against the ASTM F1001 test battery with no permeation breakthrough, reinforced butt seams stitched with a polyaramide thread and covered with a strip made of multi-layer super polymer barrier film, integrated bootie socks made of the base garment material, a pair of separate disposable oversocks are supplied to ease the donning of the safety boots, the inner glove is a multi-layer polymer barrier film laminte fixed to the suit by a snap on glove cuff assembly, the second glove is a chlorprene rubber semi attached to the suit by an elastic band, the third knit kevlar glove for cut and puncture resistance is worn over the chlorprene glove, a pair of separate cotton inner gloves are supplied for moisture absorption, wide vision 1mm PVC with a permanently attached FEP film overlay for ultimate chemical resistance, long heavy duty gastight zipper placed on the front left hand side of the suit to facilitate easy donning and doffing, the zipper closes downward to give the wearer the ability to control the zipper position and to reach the zipper pull tab, the zipper is protected by an external splash flap, main bodyof suit constructed by a double welding technique to eliminate tape detachment and stitch holes, integral sock/bootie to give head-to-toe protection, cuff rings that facilitate gloves changes.
