The Federal Highway Administration/Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) intends to issue a purchase order to The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (VA DMV) to co-sponsor the efforts of the VA DMV to produce a web-based interactive educational module for "Sharing the Road Safely" with large trucks and buses. This is a partnership between the FMCSA and VA DMV that will target specific driver types and age groupings with interactive software that communicates and educates drivers about the operating limitations of commercial motor vehicles on the highways. The FMCSA can test outreach messages, the interactive software, and can then share this information with other States. Because this is a cost-sharing effort and no other known source is currently providing this service this requirement is considered a sole source requirement.
