of this announcement is to serve as a Request For Information (RFI).
The Department of Defense (DoD) is conducting a study on Anti-Tamper
(AT) technology. The study will identify AT techniques used in industry
and those available for inclusion on military weapon systems. The DoD
seeks briefings from industry on currently available and future AT
products. The briefings should focus on products that can protect U.S.
critical technology assets from reverse engineering and exploitation.
Briefings on hardware and software AT solutions for customized
government and commercial military components are encouraged. Briefings
and abstracts should include information on potential applications,
opportunities for future growth, and cost estimates. If your company
has prospective products, please submit abstracts for your company's
briefings to Mr. Mike Rithmire (contact information and administrative
instructions follow). Depending on the potential of your technology or
technique, you may be invited to present your ideas in detail during
the September -- October 2000 time frame. The briefings will be
conducted either at your facility or government offices as appropriate.
Foreign participation is welcome. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST
FOR PROPOSAL. This announcement is only an expression of interest and
does not obligate the U.S. Government in any way. This announcement is
for planning purposes only and will not result in contract award. The
U.S. Government will not be liable for any costs associated with
preparation of any response to this announcement or its associated
informational package. To receive full consideration, responses should
be received no later than 30 days after publication of this RFI.
