Program on Human Centered Transportation Research. This is Amendment
No. 2 to BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT #DTRS56-00-BAA-0007, titled
"Operator Fatigue Management Analytic Systems and Technologies to
Forecast and Manage Fatigue and Ensure Alertness for Commercial
Transportation Operators." The announcement/ solicitation was posted on
June 21, 2000 (in the CBD). Amendment No. 1 was issued on August 15,
2000 extending the date for receipt of proposals to October 31, 2000.
Operator Fatigue Management is Part 1 of the program initiative on
Human Factors. The following change applies: Receipt of proposals is
extended to December 15, 2000. Proposals are to be submitted to Ms.
Cynthia D. Barzey, Contract Specialist, Research and Special Programs
Administration, ATTN: DMA-30, 400 SeventhStreet, S.W., Room 7108,
Washington, D.C. 20590, not later than 4:00 PM, Eastern Time, December
15, 2000, an original and nine (9) copies. All offerors shall
acknowledge receipt of Amendment No. 2 when submitting proposals. The
scope of proposals submitted should reflect a slower start up period,
rammping up in subsequent years to a more ambitious schedule. The
national conference will be held at the Sheraton Premiere Hotel at
Tysons Corner, 8661 Leesburg Pipe, Vienna, Virginia 22182, PH: (703)
448-1234, on August 29 and 30, 2000. The Human Centered Transportation
Research Initiative continues to be a high priority flagship
initiative within the Department of Transportation. As previously
stated in the synopsis posted June 21, 2000 (in the CBD), the meeting
forum will present the partnership initiative and address questions on
the DOT Human Factors initiative. An agenda for the meeting, in
addition to further information about this broad agency announcement,
