VA-AAC seeks to replace its use of Compuware's Abend-Aid with a functionally equivalent or similar product. Abend-AID formats the IBM-supplied dump information that is produced when a program terminates abnormally into a user-friendly format that makes solving production and test application program problems faster and easier. It provides information about the type of termination, common causes, abending instruction, and the last input and output records. Interested parties are requested to provide pricing for commercial software products that will provide the same functionality as Abend-AID, and are requested to provide pricing for any training offered for the use and installation of the product. Responses shall describe functional differences between Abend-Aid and the proposed replacement product, and shall address any conversions that are necessary to replace Abend-Aid including changes that the end user must be aware of in order to use the new product. If conversion support is available and/or necessary by the vendor, the response must describe this support and provide pricing. Pricing must be for the replacement product only and must not be bundled with other software products. AAC may seek enterprise licensing with no additional charges for any reasons including but not limited to increases in MIPS capacity, cross-servicing of other federal agencies, additional OS/390 footprints.
