The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Integrated Manufacturing Technology Initiative (IMIT), Oak Ridge, Tennessee, for A 2-year full membership in the IMTI Consortium. The IMIT is a not-for-profit partnership of public and private stakeholders representing multiple industry sectors and seeking crosscutting solutions to strategic challenges facing the U.S. manufacturing sector. Membership in the consortium provides a forum to make known NIST's work in manufacturing integration, predictive process engineering, precision measurement technologies, intelligent control systems and manufacturing standards activities. IMIT shall facilitate and promote collaborative research and development, create roadmaps for high-priority focus technologies, maintain and extend baseline roadmaps and serve as a focal point for information and analysis of crosscutting needs, solutions and developments. This is a sole source because only IMTI brings together the right perspectives from organizations involved in all aspects of manufacturing.
